As part of the Marshfield Signature Series®, Environmental Class doors are well suited for use in offices, schools, hospitals, government facilities, or other commercial applications where the owner is concerned about environmental responsibility.

Certified for recovered fiber content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), Marshfield's Environmental Class particleboard core is available as non-rated or 20-minute rated. SCS is an independent, third party certification agency that certifies recovered fiber content through detailed assessment of material acquisition records and manufacturing processes. SCS recovered fiber content certification means we:

• Have completed an intensive auditing process;
• Have documented the acquisition and use of recycled material, and
  
• Have independent certification that our product contains at least 40% recovered wood fiber.

Forest Stewardship Council chain-of-custody certified through Smartwood, Marshfield's stave core door is available non-rated or with a 20-minute fire rating. The composite products in this door do not contain any added urea-formaldehyde. FSC certification means that the raw materials used in product manufacture originate from FSC-certified sources, and ultimately that the forest of origin has been independently inspected and evaluated according to environmental, social and economic principles and criteria agreed by the Forest Stewardship Council A.C. The FSC is an international, non-profit association whose membership includes environmental and social groups and progressive forestry and wood retail companies working in partnership to improve forest management worldwide. By earning this FSC certification, we have demonstrated that:

• All timbers have a documented chain-of-custody, meaning that we can track the timber from the forest of origin through every step of manufacturing;
  
• The forest of origin is managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards, and
  
• At least 70% of the door volume is composed of FSC certified material.
