Weyerhaeuser brought another first to the industry in 1987, with the addition of a one of a kind process for making particleboard. The Steam Thru manufacturing facilities bore a ground-breaking process which heated particleboard through steam injection. The steam injection process revolutionized the manufacturing of particleboard by greatly speeding up compacting time and creating a more uniform core.
